On October 8, 2009, VZ and McAfee, Inc., the world's largest dedicated security technology company, announced a global strategic alliance to provide integrated security solutions to businesses and government agencies worldwide.
The agreement between Verizon Business and McAfee extends significant value to enterprise clients by providing comprehensive world-class security solutions and services, including new cloud-based offerings. Building on both companies’ success in technology and security, McAfee and Verizon Business can deliver solutions that effectively meet enterprise and government security challenges ahead, especially as more communications functions move to the “cloud,” or network, to take advantage of faster implementation, enhanced security, and lower costs.

On January 12, 2010, Verizon Business, in conjunction with Motorola Inc., unveiled a managed wireless security service that will be offered via Verizon's Framework for Retail, a new technology platform that Verizon Business is designing to help retailers improve their IT performance and enhance their business processes.
On December 14, 2009, OMX Group Inc., the world's largest exchange company, has extended its cooperation with Verizon Business. Through the two companies' new agreements, NASDAQ OMX is reinforcing its global open connectivity strategy as well as supporting the expansion of its world-leading co-location services offering for its U.S. exchanges and markets. The agreements extend an existing relationship under which Verizon Business provides the exchange company with professional services, unified communications and corporate network services.
On December 9, 2009, VZ, Frontier Communications Corporation, the staff of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio and the Office of the Ohio Consumers' Counsel, along with Cincinnati Bell Extended Territories, LLC, reached agreements on a number of issues related to the transfer of Verizon’s landline operations in the state to Frontier.
On October 29, 2009, State regulators in California, Nevada, and South Carolina each approved the acquisition of the local wireline operations of Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ) serving residential and small-business customers in all or parts of those states by Frontier Communications Corporation.
On October 6, 2009, Verizon Wireless, a joint venture of Verizon Communications Inc (VZ) and Vodafone Group Plc. (VOD) and Google Inc. (GOOG) announced that they had formed a partnership to deliver mobile phones that use Google’s Android software. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Both companies see this agreement as an opportunity to offer consumers an array of products that combine the speed of the nation’s largest and most reliable 3G network with the flexibility of the Android mobile platform.
On October 6, 2009, JetBlue Airways signed a new, six-year strategic agreement with Verizon Business to manage the airline's information technology ( IT) data center and network needs, as well as provide security and IT consulting services. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
